Katelynn (Kate) is the founder of Fly with Kate, located at the scenic Joseph Y. Resnick Airport (N89) in Ellenville, NY. Kate has been providing primary and advanced flight instruction since 2009 and has been involved in aviation most of her life. She started flying at 16, receiving her private pilot's license at the age of 17. Kate has been flying airplanes since before she could even drive a car! By the age of 18, Kate had received her instrument, commercial, multi-engine commercial, CFI, MEI, and CFII ratings, as well as seaplane, tailwheel, high-performance, and complex endorsements. Kate is also type-rated in the Citation 550, 650, and 560XLS+ jets!
Since then, Kate has amassed over 10,000 hours of flight instruction given and has created the premier flight school in the Hudson Valley. Her goal is, and has always been, to create a personalized approach to flight instruction centered around each student's individual needs. We provide access to a well-trained team of seasoned flight instructors (including current and former airline pilots) and meticulously maintained airplanes to provide the highest level of training 365 days a year.
Kate is not only a pilot but a mechanic as well. Kate has her Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate and her Inspector Authorization (IA) from the FAA. She also leads a team of skilled mechanics at Winds Aloft Aviation Services to offer exceptional aircraft maintenance in support of general aviation. Kate is also a member of the Ninety-Nines to support women in aviation and is active with the Young Eagles, working hard to inspire the next generation of aviators.
