Student Accomplishments

The tradition of student pilots and shirt tails goes back to the early days of aviation. Before the days of modern airplanes with radios and headsets, flight instruction was performed in loud and windy open cockpit airplanes. Flight instructors would have to tug at the backs of the shirts of their students shirts in order to get their attention. Here lies the time honored tradition of cutting a students shirt back, the shirttail, as a way of honoring a students maiden flight at the controls solo. This page is dedicated to the hard work and dedication of our amazing students as they work to achieve their aviation dreams. Here we celebrate some of their first solo's and checkride successes
